Do you want to self-publish and never know quite how to start?

There are many sites dedicated to helping you. Some make you pay, some don't. I have spent many hours perusing some of them.  I thought it might be helpful to have a FAQ page, where people can ask me questions, and I can either answer from my own experience, or from those many areas of research that I have read.

This page is to be dedicated to answering those questions that you may have. I shall respond to those who ask them, or shall post some that I asked myself when starting out.

I will update the Yahoo group - tanya_allan_readers group with new Questions when they get posted here.

Question One.

What is the single most important factor to take into account when publishing?

Answer: Assuming you have completed your work, get someone proficient to proof-read it.  This is one of my many faults and I am prone to want to rush to print. It is a definite mistake.

Get it edited by someone who knows what they are doing. If you can find someone who does it for free, fine, but sometimes you need to invest in a professional editor.

I know from experience that you will never proof-read your own material, as you know it too well and will miss hordes of typos and grammatical errors. No matter how good your believe your written English (or language) is, you WILL make mistakes. You will not find them all.... Get help!
